Festive ideas for small teams

Over the last couple of years, we’ve hosted some lovely festive gatherings so how about taking inspiration from these ideas?

Small business of 12 people

A small accounting firm in central Truro arrived for early evening drinks in the lounge, swapping stories of the year with a backdrop of Scandi-inspired Christmas decorations.

They then went through to the Scandi room for a private banquet set down the middle of the table with plenty of space around to mingle & chat.

After a few more drinks & the traditional Christmas present swap, they returned to the lounge for coffee & hot chocolate by the fire.

“We had a great time last Christmas at VARA. Relaxed, great quality, but simple evening with colleagues.”

 

Group of 25 people

A local group wanted to do something different after many years of traditional turkey, crackers & Christmas pudding. They were looking for a gentler pace than the crowded bars & restaurants they usually went to. So they booked Hotel VARA for Christmas drinks & pizza.  

Early evening was spent chatting with friends by the fire, enjoying a drink. Antipasti & artisan pizzas fresh from the VARA oven were laid out in the Canvas Room for everyone to help themselves … there were even dairy & gluten free options.

“It was just what we hoped for. Contemporary decorations, café culture music, candles & a lovely atmosphere. We have booked to come back this December”

 

Local company of 40 people

An engineering business on the outskirts of Truro found The Scandi room at Hotel VARA ideal for their group of 40. Twinkling olive trees & Scandi decorations set the scene for the evening in a private room with plenty of space to spread out. An informal buffet with a selection of dishes for all tastes & diets was laid out on the islands.

A light-hearted review of the year was projected on the 50 inch screen, followed by an awards ceremony. Those that still had energy to burn headed off into Truro for more music & dancing.

“The atmosphere was warm & friendly, & we finished the evening in the cosy lounge … several of us had booked rooms so we did not have to drive home & could enjoy one or two more drinks!”
